Further to our previous notices on E-Passports, we wish to inform Kenyans in the US that the use of old generation machine-readable passports has been extended from 31st August 2019 to 1st March, 2020.
Kenyans can, therefore, travel on their current valid (old blue) passports until 1st March, 2020. Kenyans are urged to take advantage of the extension and not wait until the last minute to apply for new E-passports.
Applications for the new E-Passports in the US are currently ONLY being processed by the Kenya Embassy, Washington, DC. Please follow this link for details.Note that the applicant must submit the requirements in person to complete the process
Note that, before you visit any of the processing stations, applicants must apply online and pay the requisite fee through the eCitizen Portal. It is important to note that you must submit the application documents in person to complete the process.
E-passport applications can also be made at any of these passport offices: Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Embu and Kisii for those already in Kenya before the 1st March Deadline
